The Edit is a curated collection of things currently on my mind. In this inaugural edition you’ll find:
Fashion and beauty finds I’ve been eyeing and buying, including the sale you won’t want to miss. Plus I have an exclusive discount code to share with you.
A book I recently read that I would argue should be mandatory reading for all.
Eyeing & Buying
I have often felt like a classic button down shirt isn’t very “me”, but CISSA has convinced me otherwise. I have been wearing this shirt on repeat, loving the oversized fit and wrapped look. Wear it with the bralette underneath and leave it a little undone for an effortlessly cool look this summer. Use code AUDREY15 for 15% off.
This Prada bag is going to be everywhere this summer… I’m obsessed.
Speaking of bags: I recently realized that I must have donated my gym bag when we moved, so I’ve been searching for a good replacement and this is the current frontrunner. I think it’s a really cute option for the gym, yes, but also as a general carry-all for weekend errands, traveling, or any other time I find myself needing the extra bag space but don’t want to use my leather tote.
Ring Concierge is currently having their Spring Sale with up to 30% off fine jewelry. If you’ve been looking to invest in something sparkly, now would be the perfect time. The decision paralyses is really setting in for me…
Summer Fridays’ latest product launch is a highly-anticipated addition to their Jet Lag™ Collection. I can’t wait to try these eye patches both at home and while I’m traveling.
Reading
I recently read One Day Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad and… whoa.
On October 25, 2023, after just three weeks of the bombardment of Gaza, Omar El Akkad put out a tweet: “One day, when it’s safe, when there’s no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it’s too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.” This tweet has been viewed more than 10 million times.
This is El Akkad’s nonfiction debut, his most raw and vulnerable work to date, a heartsick breakup letter with the West. It is a brilliant articulation of the same breakup we are watching all over the United States, in family rooms, on college campuses, on city streets; the consequences of this rupture are just beginning. This book is for all the people who want something better than what the West has served up. This is the book for our time.
Tommy Orange, bestselling author of There There and Wandering Stars, said this about the book: “I can’t think of a more important piece of writing to read right now. Please read this. I promise you won’t regret it.”
If you read only one book this year, let it be this one.
