Reading Recs: Books Under 200 pages
Don't be fooled by their small size—these books have big impact.
Lately I have been loving short books. I have been in a bit of a reading rut and lacking the patience to work through longer titles, so I’ve been gravitating towards stories that are short in size while still offering a big impact.
I’ll admit I love a book that cracks my soul wide open, sparking deep reflections and leaving me a little bit changed. Reading is so therapeutic for me, as I know it is for so many. This week I read the Turkish classic Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali and it was as breathtaking as everyone says, but also incredibly devastating. A profoundly moving tale of star-crossed lovers and missed opportunity, I devoured this book in two sittings. The yearning, the love, the prose… this book left me speechless.
I’m excited to share with you some shorter books I’ve read and loved, along with some others that are piling high on my nightstand waiting to be read next. The books shown below are only a portion of the 40+ titles I’ve curated for you, all of which can be found here.
A FEW FAVORITES
Some of these are titles you’ve probably seen at a bookstore and maybe even have read before, while others are hidden gems I think you should know about… All of them have a special place in my heart (and on my bookshelf):
UP NEXT
A few of these were recommended by some of my favorite influencers, some were featured on prize lists, some I brought home as souvenirs from my travels… Regardless, they all caught my attention and I can’t wait to dive into each and every one of them:
Did you spot any of your favorites or discover a title you’d like to read? Do you have a favorite short book that isn’t mentioned here? Let’s chat in the comments!
